It’s almost time to step into 2022, but not before we reminisce about some of our greatest achievements from the past year and write down our resolutions for the New Year.
At Platform81, we’re all about growth and we’ve been busy making exciting plans of what we want to achieve in 2022 to help develop our people and further evolve as a business. Looking in retrospect, 2021 came with some great milestones such as finally opening the doors to our new Stockport office, ambitious projects and new clients onboard, several new additions to the team and so much more.
We sat down with the P81 Directors, Caroline, Nick and Gary, to get their insights regarding how the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us to become more resilient and flexible in our approach, key milestones, as well as what we can expect for the company to accomplish in 2022:
In your opinion, what is one of the proudest moments of P81 from the past year?
Caz: Without a doubt the team and how hard they have worked this year – I have worked with some great people in my career but, the team we have in place now are not only a pleasure to work with but also skilled and hardworking. They take pride in their work and have continually adapted to the ever-changing needs of our clients during the pandemic.
What are the three main values of Platform81 that you believe make us stand out and define the business?
Caz: Our passion – all the team at Platform81 love what they do and consistently deliver exceptional quality for our clients.
Our knowledge, The Platform81 staff are extremely skilled and are continually looking to stay ahead of the game with current trends.
The fact that we are so adaptable, our approach is flexible so we can meet our client’s marketing or creative needs.
What do you wish for P81 to accomplish in the next year?
Caz: I would like 2022 to be all about growth, we’ve won some great new clients during 2021 with hopefully more to come in the New Year, because of this we are now in a position to build the teams further and I’m excited to bring some new additions into the team.
It would also be nice to get back to our quarterly nights out – fingers crossed!
In your view, what’s the best achievement of P81 throughout the past year?
Gary: The switch to remote working this year for all our staff along with the continual growth our agency has been a real big achievement. A large proportion of our clients have had to develop their online offering substantially this year and it’s been great we’ve been able to help and support so many of them under the current circumstances.
What is one professional mistake that you’ve made in the past year and how did you learn from it?
Gary: I think it’s important for everyone to take regular breaks, be focused on achieving all your tasks within your normal working hours. When working from home it can be tempting to do a few extra hours on an evening which can then soon feel like the norm of the working day.
Can you share with us some New Year’s resolutions for the business?
Gary: We’ve seen some good areas of growth within areas of our business this year which should give us the opportunity to recruit further team members next year to allow the agency to keep growing. The expertise we have within the business is vital to keep pushing forward and offering our clients the latest cutting-edge digital marketing, design and web development.
We’ve also had the opportunity to work on some award-worthy work this year, so providing there’s no restrictions we may even be able to attend a few award ceremonies!
What’s a key milestone that Platform81 has achieved in 2021? How does it make you feel?
Nick: The way we have collectively adapted our working lives and continued to deliver a market leading service to our clients. I feel the current team is the strongest it’s ever been, and this is reflected in the sheer volume, and quality of projects we have delivered….and always with a smile on our faces!
Looking back, what is the most important lesson you’ve learned from running a digital marketing agency through a pandemic?
Nick: Keep positive and be flexible. The pandemic has affected us all in very different ways, so I feel it’s important to give staff and clients freedom to work in a way that suits their personal situation. Positivity and enthusiasm have been at the core of all we have achieved this year…there have been a few challenges, but the team have been amazing and ultimately moved the business forward.
Where do you see the business going in the next 5 years? Any exciting plans you can share with us?
Nick: The future is certainly looking bright for Platform81. Growth is very much the plan and we are looking to continually improve our output. This will include investment in tech, rolling out training programmes for our current team and attracting new talent.
I also really want to take the team abroad in 2022, just need Covid-19 to kindly stop doing its thing!!
