We’re doing it for Kidscan

Today as part of our #10for10 campaign we’re delighted to announce our charity of choice, Kidscan, who we’re going to support by raising an ambitious £10,000 in 2018!

Kidscan is a Salford- based charity, funding pioneering research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer. We had the pleasure of working with Ged and the team last year whilst building their website and were blown away with the work that they do, finding the case studies and ambassadors truly humbling, so couldn’t wait to get involved. Over the course of the year we’ll be participating in many challenging activities; sky diving, football tournaments and a team Toughmudder to name just a few! We’ll also be baking, dressing up and just simply joining the Kidscan team by getting out with our collection boxes whenever we can. Everyone’s getting involved!

The research Kidscan do is funded alone by the contributions made by the public, volunteers and businesses. With this funding, Kidscan are able to develop treatments that not only cure children with cancer but also prevent the side effects of current treatments, such as learning difficulties, mobility issues and infertility.

Kidscan make it their mission to;

• Cure all children diagnosed with cancer
• Improve the current treatments for children with cancer
• Develop new, targeted treatments to treat specific cancers in children
• Use their research base to influence policy overcoming the obstacles to the introduction of new and existing drugs to clinicians

Since 2002 they’ve funded over 35 research projects, changing the lives of many children. You only have to read the stories of some of their brave ambassadors to see how amazing the work that they do is.
